Active Ingredients
Each 50 mL glass vial contains 250 mg of levofloxacin.Each 100 mL glass vial contains 500 mg of levofloxacin.
Each 150 mL glass vial contains 750 mg of levofloxacin.
Indications
For the treatment of the following infections in adults caused by pathogens susceptible to levofloxacin: community-acquired pneumonia, complicated urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis), skin and soft-tissue infections, and chronic bacterial prostatitis.
Dosage and Administration
• The solution for infusion may be administered by slow intravenous infusion once or twice daily. The dosage depends on the type and severity of the infection and the susceptibility of the causative pathogen. Depending on the patient’s condition, intravenous therapy may usually be switched to oral tablets (500 mg film-coated tablets). Because the intravenous and oral formulations are bioequivalent, the same dosage may be used.• Duration of treatment: Adjust according to the patient’s clinical condition.
• Method of administration: For slow intravenous infusion only. Administer once or twice daily for up to 14 days.
• Infusion times:
• 250 mg: Infuse over at least 30 minutes.
• 500 mg: Infuse over at least 60 minutes.
• 750 mg: Infuse over at least 90 minutes.
• Depending on the patient’s condition, intravenous therapy may be switched to oral treatment after several days.
Daily Dosage According to the Severity of Infection
• Community-acquired pneumonia: 500 mg once or twice daily, or 750 mg once daily.
• Complicated urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis): 250 mg once daily.
• Chronic bacterial prostatitis: 500 mg once daily.
• Skin and soft-tissue infections: 500 mg twice daily.
• A higher dosage should be considered in cases of severe infection.
